Osmond is proud of its history. Incorporated on December 19, 1890, the town's heritage includes a variety of backgrounds including German, Bohemian, Swedish, Danish, English, and Irish. Many present-day residents have a direct lineage back to the founding of the Osmond area.

Osmond, has a population of around 800, lies in the heart of irrigation country--in fact throughout the 1970's, Osmond was known as the "Water Capital of Nebraska". Along with the irrigation in the area, there is a strength in knowing that we help to produce much of our nation's agricultural products. The community is fortunate to have a large grain terminal served by the Nebraska Northeastern Railway line to transport the corn and grains produced in the region to market.
